This is a list of steps to help you effectively evaluate your website or product using the usability checklist:
- Determine the user tasks that are most important for your website or product. These tasks should be based on the goals of your website or product, as well as the needs and expectations of your users. 💡See “User tasks by domain” page
- Review the usability checklist and identify the guidelines that are most relevant to the user tasks you have identified.
- Go through your website or product and evaluate it against the relevant guidelines. Look for areas where the user experience could be improved, and make note of any issues you find.
- Document the issues you have identified, including details about the location and nature of the problem, and any recommendations for improvement. You can add screenshots right under each guideline.
- Review your findings and prioritize the issues based on their impact on the user experience and the ease of implementation.
- Develop a plan to address the identified issues and improve the user experience. This may include making changes to the design, content, or functionality of your website or product.
